Town of Perth MapThe attractive and unhurried Town of Perth is the Lanark County Seat. Bisected by the Tay River which links pleasure boaters from the Town to the Rideau Water system, Perth reflects a strong Scottish heritage from whence comes its name and its roots.

The Town population is 6003, ranking it second only to Carleton Place as the County's largest centre and over the past five years, has grown by just under 6%. Located at the junction of highways 7 and 43, Perth residents are just 60 minutes from Ottawa and 45 minutes from multi-lane 401 with its Toronto and Montreal access.

The average age of Perth residents is above the provincial average. Coupled with its many attractive residential areas, renowned Colonial Georgian architecture and abundance of shopping areas and boutiques, the Town is a natural as a retirement community.

Anchoring the industrial sector is 3M Canada Inc. along with Cutler-Hammer, Albany International, and Central Wire just to name a few. It also boasts a thriving downtown area with shops and small business, many of which are housed in beautifully restored heritage buildings.

Perth is bordered on the north by highway #7 with over 40 acres of land available for commercial development. In addition, there are close to five acres available in the downtown core.
